Its Thursday and our internet time is limited...so I am going to make this really quick...but I promise to blog more Saturday and even put up pictures...even if it takes me 2 hours and 50 Quetzals.
1- Did anyone else know that they turn off the water for the entire city in the afternoon...so its near impossible to find a bathroom that works?
2- For all you Clinic Ezell people:
Last week we had a patient who was operated on on Sunday. Sunday night she had some complications and had to be rushed back in for emergency surgery. Everything seemed ok and she went home. Well, that lady came into our clinic today for her post-op visit and is doing great! She and her husband are not currently members of the church, but I think they told Lisa that they are now interested in visiting! Praise God for the wonderful things that can come from mission trips.
Loveyouall!

So....just wanted to give you guys the follow-up on "senual shannon" (loved that comment, nicole). So, Dr. Kellum, Dr. Carroll, and I were scrubbed in on a laproscopic case on Wednesday (my last day on the rotation). And, Dr. Kellum started talking to Shannon about his hair. He said that a lot of people had been making comments about how it had been looking different since the trip...his wife, his partners, even a patient told him it looked thicker. That's where I wet my pants. Dr. Kellum started asking him if he was using anything different, and he said not that he knew of. That's where I inserted that maybe it was the KY jelly I had replaced his hair gel with. The shocked look on his face was priceless. Needless to say, he went to the lounge and put sonogram jelly in my white coat pockets...a sub-par attempt at retaliation. It did ruin my cell phone for which he felt really bad. I have been chuckling about it for the last day and a half.
Hope all is well in Chichi. That's crazy about the water. Guess you'll just have to watch that AM fluid intake. :)
Nicole,
I was in the room with Shannon and Mandy and let me say that Shannon's reaction was swift and sure. My advice to you is that if you had any part of the K-Y jelly substition for hairgel trick, then never, never never let shannon find out about it.
take care,
Roy
Hey Dr. Roy....I had no part in that whatsoever. Promise.
Although I do think its really really hilarious.
